Fire near NH assisted living facility injures two, damages building

DURHAM — Two were injured in an evening fire on the site of an assisted living facility in Durham.

Firefighters battled flames in a 5,000-square-foot storage barn at the Harmony Homes at 1 Stagecoach Road in Durham that eventually went to 4-alarms.

Published reports indicate that the fire threatened the facility's living space, but did not actually ignite it. The building affected was used to store maintenance equipment.

Firefighters say the blaze was touched off by a lawnmower.

The extent of the injuries was not known.
